More than 20 people taken to the hospital, after a carbon monoxide leak at a bowling alley.
Stow Firefighters were called to Sto-Kent Lanes around 11:40am Thursday, after someone had fainted.
Firefighters quickly determined that the cause was a carbon monoxide leak inside the facility. The facility was immediately evacuated, and Stow Fire Prevention shut the building down.
Approximately 30-35 customers were exposed to carbon monoxide, with twenty-seven or more transported to eight area hospitals.

The Piney Woods School is back to normal operations after an almost four-hour campus-wide lockdown spurred by a chlorine gas leak.
A school employee was doing routine maintenance on a chlorine tank when there was a leak. That happened earlier this morning, around 9 a.m., said Detrice Johnson, assistant director of development.
Roosevelt Sias, assistant physical plant manager, was overwhelmed by fumes and taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Johnson said.
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality was called to the campus and the leak has been secured, she said. MDEQ has given the OK for the school to resume its normal schedule, she said.

(Reuters) - A "rank" odor that has spread across parts of greater New Orleans may be linked to a leak from the 192,500-barrel-per-day Chalmette refinery, the U.S. Coast Guard investigating the smell said on Thursday.
Chalmette, a joint venture between Exxon Mobil Corp and Venezuela's national oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA), reported a leak early Wednesday morning but it had been quickly contained at the plant, the Coast Guard said.
"Chalmette Refinery has worked with (the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality) and Coast Guard response teams most of the day to survey and evaluate all potential sources of odors in the area," the Coast Guard said.
"The facility reported and quickly stopped a leak early Wednesday morning and, while the investigation is still ongoing, officials currently believe it could be the source of the odor," it said in a statement.
Exxon Mobil did not immediately respond to questions.

FIRE FORCES LAB EVACUATION IN DES PLAINES

Flammable fumes from chemicals used at Abbott Molecular laboratory in Des Plaines ignited, starting a fire Thursday afternoon that injured no one but forced the building's evacuation, Des Plaines fire officials said.
Firefighters took about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, which started about 12:20 p.m. at the lab in the 1300 block of East Touhy Avenue, said Deputy Fire Chief Randy Trost.
One employee was in the portion of the lab where the fire started, Trost said. Paramedics checked that employee for burns or chemical inhalation injuries, Trost said, but he was unharmed and declined transport to the hospital.
Trost said the lab contained methanol and ammonium bicarbonate for use in medical testing kits. Authorities are still trying to determine what caused the flammable methanol fumes to catch fire, Trost said.
Fire damage was contained to that particular lab, Trost said. Other areas of the building suffered water damage when the sprinkler system activated. Employees were seen returning to building from the parking lot shortly after 2 p.m.

LOCAL LEGISLATORS TO HOLD INQUIRY INTO 2012 CHEVRON FIRE ON FRIDAY

State Senator Loni Hancock and Assemblymember Nancy Skinner will hold a public inquiry Friday, April 5, into the Chevron Refinery fire in Richmond in August 2012, according to press releases from the legislators' offices.
The two legislators have invited the following agencies to testify and present a summary of their "findings and discoveries" of the Chevron fire's causes and effects:
U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board
California Division of Occupational Safety and Health
Bay Area Air Quality Management District
Contra Costa County Environ. Health & Hazardous Materials Division
City of Richmond
The various agencies have been asked to focus on state laws or services that need to be changed to prevent future fires and harmful air emissions at chemical processing facilities as well as to better monitor and respond to such incidents.

EXXON TO PAY FOR ARKANSAS OIL SPILL, DESPITE EARLY REPORTS

Despite early reports to the contrary, Exxon Mobil officials have announced that the company will pay all cleanup costs associated with the March 30, 2013 oil spill in central Arkansas.
The investigation into the estimated 84,000-gallon spill continues after a pipeline carrying crude oil from Illinois to the Texas Gulf Coast burst, spewing oil over the area.
Early news reports suggested Exxon may be exempt from cleanup costs because of a legal loophole that would not classify the diluted bitumen that is low-quality Wabasca Heavy crude from Alberta. The government has an Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund that companies which transport oil must pay into.
Reports that Exxon Mobil was trying to evade paying for the spill are "absolutely untrue," the company has stated.
Clean-up crews have recovered more than 12,000 barrels of oil and water since the pipeline ruptured.
The Pegasus pipeline runs more than 850 miles between Patoka, Illinois and Nederland, Texas.

University of Westminster evacuated after laboratory fire
More than 360 people have been evacuated from the University of Westminster following a fire in a scientific research laboratory.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the seventh floor of the New Cavendish Street building on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire service said the blaze was under control but it was remaining on site to clear up any spilt chemicals and to make the laboratory safe.
It added that two people had been treated for smoke inhalation.

A CHEMICAL recycling plant has been gutted by fire in Melbourne's north.
Up to 10 trucks remain at the factory in Merola Way, Campbellfield, after the blaze started about 10.55pm.
The factory is an industrial waste plant which handles hazardous and industrial chemicals.
A witness reported flames and smoke were billowing from the ceiling of the factory.
Authorities do not yet know what "dangerous goods" could be inside the building.

Wisbech factory workers treated after chemical spill
Six people were treated for breathing problems after a chemical spill at a factory in Cambridgeshire.
Emergency services were called to Paragon Labels in Cromwell Road, Wisbech, just before 12:00 BST.
Staff were taken ill after breathing in fumes from a drum containing 20 litres of ink and solvent.
The building was evacuated and a cordon put in place. Cambridgeshire Fire Service's hazardous materials crew is monitoring the situation.

Fire: Chemicals worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a chemical shop in Shah Alam Market on Wednesday.
Local traders and customers ran in panic, as chemical drums exploded creating scare in the entire locality. Firefighters rushed to the scene and controlled the blaze after hectic efforts of several hours. However, no casualty was reported.
Firefighters said the cause of fire in the shop in Guru Arjun locality owned by one Anwar was short circuiting. The estimated loss was said to be in millions.
Meanwhile, goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted when a fire broke out in a pharmaceutical factory on Raiwind Road on Wednesday.
The cause of fire was said to be short-circuit in an electric panel. Firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the fire after hectic efforts. No casualty was reported in the said incident.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. Ñ What started as a minor crash in Orlando spiraled into a full-blown hazmat situation, sending a trooper and two deputies to the hospital.
Authorities said Felix Lockett was high on marijuana laced with formaldehyde when he crashed into a fence Wednesday near Texas Avenue and Americana Boulevard.
Investigators said Lockett then got of the car, stripped off his clothes and began dancing in the street, high on the drug.
Authorities said the driver told investigators he was mixing the formaldehyde with marijuana and smoking it.
Witnesses told Channel 9 they couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"There was a naked man and his car had hit this wall, and he was beating on the car with his fist," said witness Trudy Lane.
"(He was) acting very peculiar, disoriented, stumbling around," said John Mulhall of the Orange County Fire Department. "We believed him to be under some sort of narcotic influence."
During the investigation, Orange County Fire Rescue said three officers got headaches when they were exposed to the formaldehyde inside the car.
The smell of the chemical sickened a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and two Orange County deputies.
