Hi Debbie,

Starting in the spring, the Chemistry department will be requiring all upper division undergrad chem student to attend a 4.5 hour Lab Safety Course.  EH&S will run and we will have hands on training as well as lecture.  The one good thing is the PI pushing for the course is the one whose lab burned down in 2001.

Will let you knowhow the course works out.

Are there any institutions that offer a safety course (quarter- or semester-long) for academic credit?  This would be outside of course work for a degree in health and safety.  I know there are institutions that require lab safety training before students can begin work but I’m interested in an academic course, either required or elective.
