Colleagues,
I'm sending this note because I am planning my retirement, and Yale has thoughtfully decided to find my replacement before I leave. You may see an advertisement for my job. This overlap will be good for everyone,
but I won't officially retire from Yale until December 2022. I'm 66 now and my wife has been retired for years. We're looking forward to enjoying the third-third of our lives.
Like many retirees, I hope to stay active in ACS and DivCHAS. Chemical safety is a stimulating field. I am truly grateful for the professional development opportunities ACS and DivCHAS have afforded me, and
I highly recommend getting involved in our society. In 38 years of ACS and DivCHAS membership, I had the opportunity to present at many ACS meetings, organize multiple symposia, represent DivCHAS at Council meetings, contributed to ACS books and other publications,
and to chair and serve on ACS task forces. I've represented ACS in meetings with government regulators and as a contributor to two editions of
Prudent Practices. As my ACS and DivCHAS colleagues, you have definitely contributed to my rewarding career. Thank you.
Pete
