It will be offered in Orlando the week of Sept 21st. (Probably from noon on the 23rd until 4::30 PM on the 25th Wed to Friday.) It should be up on the web site in January or so.

I am very interested in learning about these design dynamics, too. We are in the midst of sorting out much in terms of ventilation arrangements in our old building. I have signed up for updates on that course offered at Univ Wisconsin.
Thanks for that info!

IN modern ventilation systems with a common fan serving many areas it is common to either divide it up by floor (horizontally) or wing (vertically). As long as the system is designed properly either way works. The only downside is that folks need to understand that if their system on floor 1 has a problem the lab next store may not but the lab upstairs may.
For more information on Laboratory Design you may want to consider the University of Wisconsin course Successful Laboratory Design: Grass Roots, Renovations, and Relocations. You can find more information at https://epd.wisc.edu/course/laboratory-design/.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if there are any safety issues/concerns that need to be addressed when sharing a ventilation system of the labs on the first and second floor? We are in the designing stage of building chemistry labs on the first floor and sharing the ventilation system with the biology labs on the second floor.
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you,

I've been thinking about the same thing. Our cell and wifi coverage is good, but in the case of a slip and fall, one might not be able to reach a phone. Following the discussion!

Thank you,
