Hi Ralph,
Although I may not attend today's webinar (must have deleted that email) I
believe the most critical subject for Chemical Health and Safety will be the
results of the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act.
As you know , 20 high priority candidate chemicals (seven chlorinated
solvents, one of which is trichloroethylene... a known fetal heart
development risk)... have been targeted for a 3-yr Risk Evaluation Process
to determine if a candidate chemical presents an unreasonable risk to human
health and the environment.
If possible, please resend the link to attend today's webinar.
Best regards,
Don Wanamaker

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Professional development opportunities in chemical health
and safety
In reviewing the questions that have already been submitted for today's
webinar, I noticed one that asks for suggestions for mid-career chemistry
professionals to learn more about technical and/or regulatory aspects of
chemical health and safety. This is a common question when we conduct an ACS
webinar and I thought I would ask for suggestions from DCHAS-L as to what
you have found to be the most valuable resources in this regard.
I don't know if we'll be able to develop a complete answer to this before
today's webinar, but we will have the opportunity to follow up with
registered attendees, so I'd appreciate any suggestions that you have on
this topic.
Thanks for any help with this.
