Section 1.3.3 of "Laboratory Safety for Chemistry Students" (2nd ed, 2016) is "Laws and Regulations to Pertaining to Safety". Although the target audience is college students, this seven-page section provides an overview. It also includes a "call-out box" that describes the organizational structure of the CFR and a brief description of the 1989 attempt by OSHA to update the PEL list.

-----Original Message----- In reviewing the questions that have already been submitted for today's webinar, I noticed one that asks for suggestions for mid-career chemistry professionals to learn more about technical and/or regulatory aspects of chemical health and safety. This is a common question when we conduct an ACS webinar and I thought I would ask for suggestions from DCHAS-L as to what you have found to be the most valuable resources in this regard. I don't know if we'll be able to develop a complete answer to this before today's webinar, but we will have the opportunity to follow up with registered attendees, so I'd appreciate any suggestions that you have on this topic. Thanks for any help with this. - Ralph Membership chair --- ---
