Many people are shocked when I tell them that Nitric Oxide that has a LC50 of 80 ppm can be good for you. NO is a zone A poison one of the most toxic gases yet it is used for treatment of premature babies. In babies with HRF, blood vessels in the lungs constrict, making it difficult for the heart to pump blood through the lungs for oxygenation. They are exposed to 20 ppm for a maximum of 24 hours, followed by 5 ppm for a limited duration of no more than 96 hours!

INOmax® is a selective pulmonary vasodilator, which relaxes the blood vessels of the lungs in newborns whose heart and lungs could not otherwise carry enough oxygenated blood to the body tissues. INOmax® improves oxygenation. This is a billion dollar business and is being tested for other pulmonary treatment
