On Tuesday, voters in Michigan passed Proposal 1, which allows people age 21 or older to legally possess, use or distribute marijuana. This result does not change federal law or University policy, both of which prohibit marijuana in all forms on campus.
Michigan Tech policy prohibits students, employees and members of the public from possessing marijuana for any reason on University property or during any University activity.
The Drug Free Schools and Communities Act precludes Michigan Tech from allowing the possession or use of marijuana on campus. More information on Michigan Tech's policies can be found here.
