What about burning swatches of various types of fabric (e.g., 100% polyester, cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton, and PBI/Nomex) to show how various fabrics (i.e., clothing) respond to a fire?
What about Styrofoam mannequin heads, a can of spray paint (or something similar), and various types of safety eyewear to demonstrate why splash goggles and a face shield (in tandem) are better protection than
a pair of safety glasses with removable side-shields?
What would you be willing to touch while wearing a nitrile glove that you would NOT be willing to touch while un-gloved? Use your imagination…

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Science Expo Ideas
Good Morning-
Our EHS department is participating for the first time in the University-wide science expo and we are trying to come up with some ideas for demonstrations for our theme, “Safe Science”. Just wondering if anyone has ever done anything like
this and could provide some suggestions? Thanks!
