Advancing Systematic Review Workshop
- Expert/Topic Solicitation Due November 5 -
Update: EPA‰??s National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) is hosting a workshop on Advancing Systematic Review for Chemical Risk Assessment in Arlington, VA on December 16-17, 2015. Meeting registration and expert nominations are now open. The duration of the workshop (1 or 2 days) will be determined by the availability of subject matter experts. Meeting Information: EPA is developing and implementing a systematic review process within the IRIS Program to increase the transparency and clarity related to evaluating evidence and drawing conclusions in ongoing and future assessments. The workshop will examine the development and application of methods for the identification and evaluation of different types of evidence (epidemiology, animal toxicology, and mechanistic). This workshop will build on some of the sessions from previous workshops and further address the practical application of systematic review methodologies to specific elements of IRIS assessments. Specific sessions will focus on:
å• From theory to practice - lessons learned from the evaluation of studies of chemical exposures;
å• Systematic review relating to mechanistic data: what is really needed, and how can it be efficiently applied?
Expert and Topic Suggestions Due by November 5, 2015: EPA has opened up the workshop registration and is soliciting suggestions for experts to participate in discussions related to these sessions, and/or suggestions for additional topics in either session. Suggestions are requested by November 5, 2015.
