I don't know about "one breath"; the number of breaths necessary to kill would almost certainly depend on the concentration of H2S. We did have a tragic incident in the Shenandoah Valley a few years ago, in which several members of a farm family who were working in a manure pit were quickly overcome by H2S and killed. Obviously, from this incident, a sufficiently high concentration is quickly lethal; what I don't know are the numbers for "sufficiently high" and "quidkly." -----Original Message----- From: DCHAS-L Discussion List [mailto:dchas-l**At_Symbol_Here**MED.CORNELL.EDU] On Behalf Of Secretary, ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety Sent: Monday, October 03, 2011 11:10 AM To: DCHAS-L**At_Symbol_Here**MED.CORNELL.EDU Subject: Re: [DCHAS-L] H2S Antidotes From: "Bob Weeks"Subject: RE: [DCHAS-L] H2S Antidotes I have heard that one breath of hydrogen sulfide is fatal. Is there any documentation concerning this? Thank you. Robert Weeks, PhD, CIH
