SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Fire investigators
want to warn people to be careful when checking your mail. They have
found 3 bombs in mailboxes since Saturday. The Fire Department says
this type of explosive is usually in a bottle, possibly a soft
drink bottle, with a chemical odor.
They've
arrested 2 teenaged boys for allegedly making the devices. They
think the boys found how to make them online. If
convicted, the boys could face up to 20 years in prison and up to
a $10,000 fine.
So far, only one man suffered minor injuries, but they
say it could have been a lot worse.
"Very dangerous. Very
volatile. These are basically household chemicals that are being mixed
together, but they can have a very volatile reaction," said Chief Scott
Wolverton with the Shreveport Fire Department.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BNO NEWS) -- Indonesia's Energy
and Mineral Resources Minister Darwin Zahedy Saleh on Monday said the
fire-fighting efforts at the Pertamina refinery in Central Java was
going well, three days after the initial explosion.
Zahedy
said there was only one tank to be extinguished after the fire had been
successfully isolated from damaging further tanks, Indonesia's Antara
news agency reported.
One of the fire-fighting methods of using a helicopter
to spread foam was postponed due to the high level of difficulty, as
officials said the method had to be 99.9 percent accurate since
practically all the refinery is being considered a danger
zone.

police said.
The five tank cars that derailed never overturned and
none of the chemical was spilled, although hazmat teams responded to the
scene shortly after the derailment at 12:42 p.m., police
said.
The derailment occurred because one of the tracks near
the factory was bent, officials said, adding it is not clear how long
the track had been bent.
There were no evacuations in the area nor were any
traffic detours necessary, police said.

A massive fire broke out at 2.30pm at Gulf Petro

According
to Colonel Waheed Al Sarkal, director of Sharjah Civil Defence, the fire

The team tested samples taken from both bottles and
determined the clear liquids were not a public danger, said Assistant
Chief Mike Waite.
=93We were unable to come up with conclusive
identification, but we were able to determine the liquid was not
flammable or acidic.=94
The bottles were found near a recycling bin, and Waite
speculated they could have been full of water.
The
incident closed Logan Avenue to traffic for more than an

PHILADELPHIA - April 2, 2011 (WPVI) -- Two people were rushed
to the hospital after an Ammonia leak in Lawncrest.
Firefighters, medics and hazmat crews responded to Mrs
Resslers meat packing plant, along the 5500 block of Tabor
Road.
Investigators say someone noticed ammonia leaking from
a 30 gallon drum.
The leak formed a vapor cloud inside part of the
building, injuring two workers.

When the
tanker rail car was moving and the diluted hydrochloric acid solution
was shaken up inside, it was reacting with the moisture in the air and
creating a tiny amount of vapor that was released Saturday night,
according to CSX Train Master Mike Bias. He said most of the cars have
vents.
The car was then parked and the vapor was apparently
not being released. Officials were just waiting for the car to be fixed
in order to be moved out of the yard early Sunday
morning.
Bias said the DuPont Hazmat team left the scene
Saturday night since the car was not from their plant as originally
thought. He said they did not have the right equipment to fix
it.
Around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, a different hazmat team was
on its way to the low yard near 19th Street in Parkersburg to fix the
car so it could go to Tetra as originally planned, he said. The car
reportedly came from Kentucky.
