stion safety
We just installed an HF hood with plastic ducts
and fan parts, etc. No scrubbers or filters though. You might check with Se
ntry or Captair and check their ductless fume hoods to see if HF is an acce
ptable application. I have heard the filters are expensive and you must be
prepared to change them at the appropriate time. The other option may be to
use a Parr bomb with a Teflon liner.

ST.UVM.EDUSubject: [DCHAS-L] HF digestion safety
Does anyone
on this list have experience with proper exhaust design
for smal
l scale digestion using 48% HF? The geochemistry researcher I <
BR>am working with anticipates evaporating 2 liters of concentrated HF
;
per month in a fume hood.
I am interested in scrubbing technol
ogies and if anyone has designed
local exhaust systems that do no
t involve a fume hood.
Thanks
Joe
