Subject: gloves for phenol solutions
Hi Folks,
I received the following question from one of my
colleagues:
I recently viewed a lab safety video from HHMI that appeared
to demonstrate that nitrile gloves gave little/no protection from
exposure to phenol, and that latex gloves provided a better barrier. A
cursory look on the web is giving me conflicting information.
Could you please let us know if nitrile gloves are an
effective barrier against accidental exposure to phenol/water or
phenol/chloroform solutions?
Can anyone point me to the facts?
