If your "jurisdiction have authority" gets extremely AR and they enforce NFPA as though it were law, you will find a requirement for monitoring laboratory chemical hoods in NFPA 45. The edition at my desk is antiquated, 1991, but in Section 6-9.7 requires that new hoods and existing hoods which are modified to have airflow indication. My newer editions are in my home office, but I would venture to say that newer editions are at least as restrictive as the 1991 edition in this area.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Cite ReferenceCould you site the requirement for fume hood monitors. We are located in New York State (upstate) and are not aware of such a requirement.
