OSHA cannot cite for the fatality, only for the hazards that cause
d it. Besides each citation can only go up to $7,000 unless its a willful
citation (plain indifference or intentional disregard). I think our
NATIONAL average for cases that involved fatalities for last
year was ~ $3500. This could be very frustrating and I know
it seems like very little, but that's the way it works.

Guys,
This is shameful! $31850 for a fatality. We would get fined double that for an explosion. Foster=92s grou p recently got fined over $1,000,000 for an occupational fatality when they had not installed a failsafe they were instructed to do by Worksafe (o ur equivalent of OSHA) on a previous inspection. Admit tedly it was a million AUS $.
