Guys,
This is shameful! $31850 for a fatality. We would get fined double that for an explosion. Foster’s group recently got fined over $1,000,000 for an occupational fatality when they had not installed a failsafe they were instructed to do by Worksafe (our equivalent of OSHA) on a previous inspection. Admittedly it was a million AUS $.
Cheers, Paul

Cal OSHA issued its citations on the UCLA fatality at 16h30 Monday 4 May.
Cal OSHA fined UCLA $31850 for the fatality. $18,000 was for inadequate use of PPE, most of the remainder was for lack of training.
No surprises in the citation.
