Also at the ACS site, find the "Chem Matters" link under National Chemistry Week. There is a final project due at the end of the unit where the students have to find a real world example of a chemical reaction. However, we're only learning about 4 types of reactions (synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, double replacement); so they are slightly limited. Ultimately, the students will present their reaction and an example the significance of the reaction in the real world, along with a bunch of other info. The first deadline that the students have is to find a reaction in the real world and know what type of reaction it is. Being that I teach 8th graders, I wanted to provide them with some resources that could help them find applications of reactions. Do you know of any good website, books, or other resources that I could provide them with? Any suggestions you may have will be extremely helpful! > > > Thanks, > > Susan Hadden > Senior Occupational Safety Specialist > J&J PRD Environmental, Health & Safety > 1000 Rt 202, PO Box 300 > Raritan, NJ 08869 > 908-704-4295 (ph), 908-707-9211 (fax) >
