I don't have any answers addressing this question.  However I have a
question I believe is of a similar nature. For the first time our
company's chem lab is looking at using Streptavidin Cy5, Oligo-DNA,
Immunopure Streptavidin, and a lot of other 'bio-type' materials. Our
evaluation process traditionally handles chemical hazmats and we have no
experience with bios. Our scientists/bio-experts assure us that the
hazards are 'minimal', but we're used to hearing this from them whether
they're requesting baking soda or diborane. What precautions or concerns
should I be focusing on in evaluating these materials from an EHS
perspective?
