Subject: Teflon combustion products?
Comments: To: SAFETY

Does anyone have any familiarity with the combustion products
association with Teflon labware and whether they are likely to end up
in the soot associated with smoke from a fire? We had a lab fire
yesterday and there is the potential for Teflon to have burned in the
event. The runoff water from the spinklers and fire response was
neutral, but there is a lot of soot in the laboratory and we need to
assess clean up procedures.

Thanks for any information.
