Does anyone have any familiarity with the combustion products association with Teflon labware and whether they are likely to end up in the soot associated with smoke from a fire? We had a lab fire yesterday and there is the potential for Teflon to have burned in the event. The runoff water from the spinklers and fire response was neutral, but there is a lot of soot in the laboratory and we need to assess clean up procedures. Thanks for any information. - Ralph Ralph Stuart, CIH Environmental Safety Manager University of Vermont Environmental Safety Facility 667 Spear St. Burlington, VT 05405 rstuart**At_Symbol_Here**uvm.edu fax: (802)656-8682
