To better meet the needs of the college and university community in the
southeast,
and in response to several specific requests regarding the recent Region 4
EPA
initiative targeting colleges and universities, a roundtable discussion on
rights
and obligations under audit disclosure policy will be included on the second
day of
the seminar, April 17th. This is pertinent to everyone whether or not they
have
decided to undertake auditing and subsequent disclosure in the near future.
We are very pleased that Mr Barry Hartman a partner in the law firm of K&L
Gates in
their DC office will be joining the program to speak on this very important
recent
development. He has a national litigation and counseling practice, with an
emphasis
on environmental issues, the regulation of chemical and biological
materials, as well as hazardous substances and wastes. He represents
companies in
civil and criminal investigations, trials, and appeals primarily involving
federal
environmental laws and regulations. He has
served in both federal and state government including as Deputy Assistant
Attorney
General for the Environment Division where he was responsible for, among
other
cases, the Exxon Valdez matter.
