Rob-- Excellent response! It mirrors my experience so completely. More than once I have seen someone freeze, or do something incredibly stupid when faced with a serious emergency. Repetitive training is often resented, but good quality (and, yes, repetitive) training remains the most effective method of training an individual for the emergency that will occur. I have been in R&D management for twenty years and taught for eleven. Starting with freshmen (Yes! You have to wear the goggles all the time!) to the senior researchers (What are the emergency plans for this reaction?), we incorporate safety and hygiene planning into everything we do. Dan
