Hello All,
I work at University of Maryland, and we just had a spill in a lab from Nano-Strip, a commercially prepared stabilized version of piranha solution. It degraded the manufacturer's bottle to the point of failure, resulting in a large and obviously hazardous spill. Apparently, the manufacturer had an expiration date of around 6 months because of the degradation. In case anyone else might have old bottles of this stuff lying around, I thought it would be good to drop a note to the group.
I haven't seen Nano-Strip readily purchasable in the US for years, but I know Sigma Aldrich has their own version, Pure Strip. Has anyone here worked with it? I am wondering if they also come in HDPE bottles prone to degradation.
Thanks,
Jessica Snyder
