Dear Keleigh,
There was a description of such a device in the following paper:
Cournoyer, M. E. (2014). Fire modeling of an emerging fire suppression system. _Journal of Chemical Health & Safety_, _21_(5), 8-13.
It's a nylon tube that ruptures at high temperature, blanketing fire with foam. I think it is specifically designed for Fume Hoods, though I am having to think back a bit.
Best,

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Fire Supression Devices
I am searching for a portable or temporary, automatic or remote manual, fire suppression device that handles foam, dry chemical or CO2. Is this something anyone has seen or have experience with? I have a source for a portable manual foam fire suppression unit but the manual operation is not desirable. Thank you for any input or information this group can provide.
