Good evening, Everyone!
Midwest Chemical Safety will be hosting two, full-day virtual workshops, December 6th and 8th, 2021 (9 AM – 5 PM Central time) via Zoom. These workshops are CONFIRMED and they will be presented!
Monday, December 6th: Effective Chemical Safety Management: A Risk-Based Perspective is an introductory course for those responsible for chemical safety in their workplaces. Chemical Hygiene Officers, stockroom managers, and principal investigators will benefit from this course. We will discuss the development of a chemical hygiene plan and standard operating procedures as well as introduce hazard and risk assessment topics using two laboratory-based tools.
Wednesday, December 8th: Why it went wrong: Blame-Free Incident Investigation is a workshop to introduce those who may be involved in incident investigations at their workplace. After introducing the language of investigation, we develop a framework for your organization to classify incidents and then develop a process for investigations. Using scenarios, we will practice interviewing witnesses, formulate incident timelines. We will also introduce tools for causal analysis.
Both workshops will conclude with a session of "Ask Dr. Safety" - a Q&A period where you can bring your environmental health and safety questions and get them answered before you leave. Also, both workshops are assigned Certification Maintenance hours for ABIH which can be converted for BCSP or CHMM certification maintenance.
