I tested out the VR PPE class today. It was interesting and used VR well (you had to move around and grab things), but relatively basic in skills training. I didn't take the course all the way to the final exam.
It could be used in a general class and is an engaging way to train.

If anyone on the list has the hardware to try out this virtual reality training from the CDC about lab PPE, I'd be interested in hearing about whether they think it's a useful tool for lab safety training.

LabTrainingVR: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Edition

This basic-level course is designed to enhance laboratory scientists' ability to identify how personal protective equipment (PPE) can help reduce the risk of exposure to hazardous materials, prevent transmission of infectious agents, and demonstrate how to don and doff PPE in the correct order to minimize contamination and potential exposures. This course empowers learners to apply knowledge and practice selecting the appropriate PPE and properly donning and doffing it in a virtual museum. It concludes with a final exam in a virtual laboratory.
