Senior Chemical Hygiene Officer: The senior chemical hygiene officer serves as the scientific safety officer and program manager for the laboratory chemical hygiene, chemical hazard communications and laboratory chemical exposure assessment programs. Conducts compliance and risk assessments and develops and implements policies and procedures. This position is located at the University Park campus and oversees chemical safety programs with support from our EHS safety coordinator team. Industrial Hygiene Specialist: The industrial hygiene specialist evaluates exposures to various workplace health hazards including airborne contaminants, noise, temperature extremes, and ergonomic stressors. Identifies potential health concerns and completes industrial hygiene sampling to quantify exposures when appropriate. This position is located at the University Park campus and oversees industrial hygiene programs with support from our EHS safety coordinator team. EHS Coordinator: The EHS coordinator team promotes the advancement of the PSU safety culture for customers and acts as the EHS liaison for assigned research groups. EHS Coordinators evaluate chemical, biological and radiological, fire, and general safety hazards as well as hazardous materials shipments and waste management practices; implement effective safe work practices in accordance with established departmental standards. The EHS internal "train the trainer" training programs are developed to provide EHS staff with training on the technical and operational implementation of these EHS programs.
