The Call for papers for the Fall ACS meeting will be announced very
soon. The challenging past few years have forced innovative solutions
to difficult problems. Several divisions and committees of ACS are
providing you with an opportunity to share the lessons you have
learned and learn from the experiences of your colleagues.

The symposium: ?Moving forward: Lessons learned from pandemics,
extreme weather events, fire storms and more? is sponsored by CHAS and
the Committee for Corporation Associates with co-sponsors from SCHB,
BGMT and I&EC. The session is being organized and led by the
Industrial Safety Forum.

In advance of the formal Call for Papers, I invite you to recruit a
speaker from your company, your campus, or your agency and share the
lessons you have learned from one or more of the events listed in the
title. Here is the official description:

Flooding, rain, extreme storms, wildland fires, pandemics and more are
forcing institutions and facilities to re-examine their operating
assumptions and design parameters. Manufacturing facilities,
educational institutions, government agencies and businesses are
invited to participate in this symposium with a focus on moving
forward based on the lessons we have learned from these disasters. How
are you revising your thinking about preparing for hurricanes? How are
you modifying your operations because of heavy smoke in the air? What
will you operations look like as we co-exist with the lingering
SARS-CoV2 virus?

As soon as the link to the Call for Papers is posted, I will circulate
it. Please begin organizing a presentation now and join us as we learn
from the difficult challenges of recent years.

Thank you.
