I have a few co-workers who use this style. Since these are curved, there is no need for side shields. This style can be purchased with prescription lenses, which is the reason my co-workers have them.

Just looking at them, I don't see side shields. Generally, if protection from splash, dust, and particulates are a possibility, I have to assume that these (the particulates at least) could conceivably come from the side.

I could use some opinions on eyewear that has ALL the following certifications: Z87.1+, D3 D4 and D5 apparently simultaneously. Now you can't wear these over glasses, but it looks like for contact wearers, this could be an all in one answer for the shop or lab. Here's the link:
