At one point(in the 1980's), it used to be standard advice to visit your relevant regulator annually to see what they have in their files about your hazardous waste activities to make sure it was accurate. There was so much activity involved in establishing RCRA, there was often a lot of confusion to be found in those records. Nowadays, you can do that from the comfort of your own office.
