Hi All,
I haven't said anything before now because we are working out the final details, but Mary Beth I would like to announce that we will be inviting all division members to receive a free subscription to ACS Chemical Health & Safety until December 31, 2021. I hope this comes as some good news to you all. I will post more details about how to sign up for this in the next few weeks.
Up until this point, you are all correct that the 50 articles from ACS membership can be used. This is because internally our sales and marketing teams are still working out the details for how to handle individual subscriptions for this journal. There is interest in moving to the individual subscription model but currently our infrastructure is not set up to do this. So, we will be offering this trial and at the end of the subscription all participants will be given more information about their options for continuing subscriptions.
Best,

I was just told by ACS via the chat support that the journal is not available for subscription anymore. They said I need to use my member benefit of 50 articles to download articles. Is that accurate?

Hi Nickie,
That is correct - ACS has decoupled division membership from Journal subscription. The fee for CHAS division membership has decreased significantly to reflect the change.
Best,
Robin

Since ACS took over publication of the Journal of Health & Safety, do we as members of DCHAS no longer get a free subscription? When I logged onto the ACS website, I could not get access to the articles below without paying or using my "free issues". I have not received any issues in the mail since the switch.
Thank you,
Nickie Norton
