EPA Extending Nomination and Public Comment Periods for Candidates to be Considered for Membership on the TSCA SACC EPA is extending the nomination and public comment periods for the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) to receive additional nominees and input on prospective candidates for membership. Public comments will be used to assist the Agency in selecting multiple members of the SACC over the next year. EPA anticipates appointing approximately 15 members to the SACC by March 2021. Please note that current members of the SACC are eligible for reappointment during this period. Therefore, the approximately 15 members appointments completed by March 2021 may include a mix of newly appointed and reappointed members. The biographies of current SACC members are available on the TSCA SACC website. Nominations, identified by docket identification (ID) number EPA-HQ-OPPT-2020-0135, must be submitted by email to knott.steven**At_Symbol_Here**epa.gov on or before September 1, 2020. Public comments on prospective candidates for membership on the SACC must be received within 30 days of EPA posting an updated List of Candidates. The availability of the updated List of Candidates and the due date for public comments will be announced through this listserv and the TSCA SACC website. Public comments must be submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal. When providing nominations and comments, do not submit electronically (through email or the Federal eRulemaking Portal) any information you consider to be Confidential Business Information (CBI) or other information whose disclosure is restricted by statute. The SACC is a federal advisory committee, established in December 2016, to provide independent advice and recommendations to the EPA Administrator on the scientific basis for risk assessments, methodologies, and approaches relating to implementation of TSCA.
