2019 TRI Preliminary Dataset Now Available Today, EPA released preliminary Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) data about chemical releases, waste management, and pollution prevention activities that took place during 2019 at more than 20,000 federal and industrial facilities across the country. EPA plans to publish a revised snapshot of the TRI dataset in October 2020, which will be used to develop the 2019 TRI National Analysis. The agency expects to publish the 2019 TRI National Analysis in early 2021. Access the 2019 TRI preliminary dataset. You can use these data to: - identify how many facilities that report to TRI operate in a certain geographic area (for example, your ZIP code) and where they are located; and
- learn which chemicals facilities are managing and in what quantities.
These data are available in two ways: Ongoing data quality checks: While the preliminary data have not yet been through the complete TRI data quality process, the software facilities used to submit these data includes many automated quality checks that help prevent facilities from making common mistakes. EPA is now conducting additional quality checks on the preliminary data. |
