The CSB Proposes Rule on Accidental Release Reporting
Washington, D.C., December 11, 2019 - The U.S. Chemical Safety Board's (CSB) Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding accidental release reporting is available for public inspection at https://s3.amazonaws.com/public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2019-26495.pdf.
The Notice is scheduled for publication in the Federal Register on Thursday, Dec.12, 2019. The CSB will post the published version of the Notice on its web site once it is published by the Federal Register.
The CSB has a statutory duty to issue a rule and is under Court order to do so no later than February 5, 2020. The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking sets out the requirements of the proposed rule and invites comments. Comments are due within thirty days after the date of publication in the Federal Register.
Instructions for submitting comments to the proposed rule are included in the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. The CSB looks forward to receiving comments and finalizing a rule as promptly as possible.
