I did a forgotten lab a few years back. The company I contracted with did an on-site preliminary assessment to catalog all the chemicals to be removed, gave us a quote, and
advised us on the potential impact to our generator status. The pick-up was scheduled for a few weeks later. The pick-up person did not take anything that was not on the quoted list. Partially because it would affect the quote, but primarily because we were
the first stop of the day and it would affect their transport amount such that their second customer would be left hanging.
The following year, I tried to contract with another company that was geographically closer to our facility just to avoid the costly mileage surcharge from the previous contractor.
That's when I learned that waste disposal contractors in my state are licensed for specific waste types. So, we're stuck with paying the costly surcharge.

I need to find additional resources for Hazardous waste removal - We are currently cleaning out labs and have had success without waste contractor coming in and
removing the waste . Recently we found a freezer that needed to have all of the chemicals removed - all treated as hazardous waste due to how long they had been in freezer and this is a lab that was forgotten . The contractor came the removal was a Highly
Hazardous situation, they removed a portion of the chemicals but left the majority. What are my options to get this cleaned up when the waste contractor in charge of removing waste picks and chooses what they want to remove.
Thanks you for any information

At the spring meeting in Philly:
Reactives, Incident Investigation, Lab Waste Management and CHO will all be offered.
I can't speak to regional meetings.
