Hi Ralph,
The book you indicated is very good. I too have used it along with Guidelines for Laboratory Design Health, Safety and Environmental Considerations, as well as the other books such as Design and Planning of Research and Clinical Laboratory Facilities, Laboratory Design Guides. I appreciate you pointing out the fact that you too have had problems with getting the designers etc. to use them. No university, college, or organization should be strapped with costs associated with a bad laboratory ventilation design. The designers etc. need to be educated and that is one of the points I am trying to make--we need ACGIH etc. to assist.

The classic guide that addresses this question is from the National Research Council in 2000: Unfortunately, even though I have provided paper copies to design managers (architects and engineers) of several lab projects I've been involved in, I've seen no evidence that they read it... - Ralph Ralph Stuart, CIH, CCHO ralph.stuart**At_Symbol_Here**keene.edu --- ---
