As a women, wife, and mother in STEM ... I rather be home with my children than in the lab. This is a personal choice. It is ok to choose family over work!
Any time a person choses family over work, they get passed up for promotion into "senior roles". It's not discrimination against women... it's capitalism rewarding workaholics.
