It looks like C&EN is back to printing photos of poor PPE habits again (among other things). Page 6 of the digital edition shows an experiment with magnesium and what appears to be an alcohol burner. The hand is wearing nitrile gloves which will melt rather quickly (and will not protect from a nasty burn) if the reaction heat gets away from the experimenter.
