Just a note of caution. I don't think asset tags are as ubiquitous as they
used to be. More than 15 years ago, my former employer eliminated such tags
for items with initial purchase value less than $10,000. I would imagine
the cut point is higher now.

You may have HVAC expertise in Maintenance, or Health/Safety dept to
consult. Also, my first call would be to OEM application engineers. If it
has an asset tag (as it should) your finance dept should have information on
that as well. Live and learn.
