Greetings to All -
In the January issue of the Journal, the editor informed
subscribers that the Journal would be moving to ACS Publications
starting in 2020.å With this email, I want to take a moment to let
the membership know what has been going on since then.
At this time, I am pleased to inform the membership that the Division has officially signed the contract transferring the Journal of Chemical Health & Safety to ACS Publications.å Starting in January 2020, ACS Publications will be the new ‰??owner‰?? of the Journal and will have all publishing responsibilities.å Until then, there should be no noticeable changes in appearance or delivery.
When the Society takes over publication in 2020, JCHAS will be offered as a journal subscription, just like any other of the ACS‰??s numerous publications.å When you go to pay your 2020 dues, you should see a reduction in Division dues that reflects the removal of the cost of the journal.å However, in order to continue to receive the publication of ACS Publication, you will have to subscribe to the JCHAS just as you would subscribe to any other ACS journal such as JACS or J. Chem Educ.
We suspect that sometime in mid-to-late Fall 2019, manuscript submission will switch from Elsevier (EES) to the ACS‰??s manuscript submission system.å We will let the membership know via the Listserv when that transition takes place.å The Executive Committee appreciates your patience during the transition and I would like to personally thank the Journal transfer team for all their hard work throughout this process as well as JCHAS Editor, Dr. Harry Elston for all his years at the helm serving in that position.
We are still seeking case studies, research and other articles for the Journal.å Should you have any questions, please direct them to the JCHAS Editor, Dr. Harry Elston at harry.elston**At_Symbol_Here**gmail.com.
Looking forward to a very productive year as
your Division Chair.å Please email me at sigmannsb**At_Symbol_Here**appstate.edu
with any concerns or ideas you would like the Executive Committee
to consider.
