The University of Arkansas Facilities Management Department is now accepting applications for an Occupational Safety Coordinator. Duties include but not limited to: responsible
for the safety and regulatory compliance in the laboratories, shops, and studios. This position performs regular radiological compliance audits, issues notices of non-compliance, follows up to ensure non-compliance items are corrected; maintains the radiation
equipment, performs radiation surveys and conducts fume hood evaluations; and assists the Chemical Hygiene Officer with waste pickups and spill response when requested, supports radiation safety program and assists Radiation Safety Officer as required. The
Occupational Safety Coordinator uses the EHS information management system to record findings and maintain records. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working
relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, biology, or a related field; plus two years of experience in occupational health
and safety or a related field. Valid drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience in handling of radioactive materials
Working hours are Monday Thru Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm. Starting salary is $42,386.
