Wynnewood, Lower Merion Township, PA ‰?? The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) reported that the investigation into the multimillion-dollar destruction of a Gladwyne, PA mansion may be impeded by the partial shutdown of the Federal Government.
‰??There are plans to have items sent to the lab in Maryland for some testing but probably not until March or April depending on what happens with the government shutdown,‰?? stated Special Agent Charlene Hennessy, PIO for the Philadelphia Field Division of ATF.
Authorities close to the investigation have reported that the plan is to reconstruct the mansion in a mock-up as it was before the gas explosion leveled it turning the multi-million dollar stately home into dumpsters full of shredded debris.
According to authorities, ATF is looking to discover ‰??the how‰?? and ‰??the why‰?? of the explosion.
"I confirmed with the case agent the materials were immediately sent to the lab," added Hennessy, "but due to the lab's schedule, the government shutdown and additional testing that needed to be completed prior to the engineers recreating the scene, the March/April timeframe is when the evidence is slated for analysis. An area of Brean beach was cordoned off by fire crews on Saturday afternoon (January 12th) after a potentially hazardous chemical drum was washed up on the tide line.
Specialist fire appliances from across the region, along with a team of Coastguards from Burnham-On-Sea, were called to Brean beach after a beach walker raised the alarm.
A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com at the scene: ‰??A sealed plastic chemical drum that was believed to be about three quarters full of an unknown substance was washed up on the high tide.‰??
‰??This was treated as a potentially hazardous material and the drum was placed into a secure environmental ‰??over-drum‰?? before being safely taken away for safe storage and disposal.‰??

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - Dog spray was the cause of the hazmat situation Friday morning at a local post office that sent 17 people to the hospital, the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) says.
ADEM says it's the same dog spray that mail carriers carry, but it's still unsure how it went off inside the building.

Investigators have recovered fragments of pipes that could reveal where and how an explosion at the Irving Oil refinery explosion started.
The refinery explosion shook east Saint John on Thanksgiving weekend last year. Almost 3,000 people were working on site as a massive maintenance project was underway.
Eric Brideau, assistant director of investigations for WorkSafeNB, said inspectors are studying pipes inside the refinery - specifically inside a diesel-treating unit where the explosion started.
"It's certainly one of those pipes that failed," he told Information Morning Saint John. "So the theory, or what we're trying to get at is, which one of those [caused the explosion]?

A habit meant to keep you from getting gum disease could be making you sick in other ways.
A new study says a popular brand of dental floss has toxic chemicals in it. Researchers found women who used the Oral-B Glide floss ended up with high levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAs).
PFAs are used in non-stick pans, carpet and firefighting foam. They are linked to cancer, thyroid problems, liver damage and immune system problems.
USA Today reports Oral-B says it did not find any of the substances in the study in its floss , and the floss always undergoes safety testing.
Other things that contain high PFAs, according to the study, are stain-resistant household goods such as carpet and furniture. And if a city's water is contaminated, PFAs are usually in it.
