Analysis & Purification of Cannabis Extracts to Ensure Consumer Safety
Melissa Wilcox
o Cannabis extracts are derived from natural plant material, and along with target cannabinoids, they often contain other undesirable compounds, both natural (chlorophyll, flavonoids, etc) and chemical or biological contaminants (residual solvents, pesticides, microbiological). These undesirable contaminants are concentrated along with cannabinoids during the extraction process. Therefore, it is important to have purification strategies and rigorous quality control measures to ensure products are safe for consumers and labeled properly. This session explores methods and strategies for ensuring cannabis products meet health and safety requirements in this rapidly emerging market.

Chemical Safety in the Hospitality & Amusement Park Industry
Debbie Decker
Chemicals are widely used in cleaning and disinfection applications in a wide variety of industries. But there are other chemical uses in the hospitality and amusement park industry that could include manufacturing and development of attractions. This symposium will explore some of these uses and how chemical safety applies in the non-traiditional use case.
