We had a semi-similar situation in our day care center last year; one of the caregivers had this condition and one of the interesting considerations was whether she could lift children onto the diaper changing table. We provided her with a step stool to reach the child to perform the operation, but her arms did not have the leverage to manage an unwilling child. I believe that they built her assignments as to which kid to change around this consideration.
Similarly, you may want to think about whether there are specific situations where moving weighty samples or working with specific instruments may arise. I suspect that coaching the student to ask for help is the best approach to addressing this; to me, this is another example where people's different abilities highlight the value of best practices...
