Hello,

We are similar to UC Davis in that we have a contract with Mission Linen to launder coats at the cost of less than a $1 each.  We own them, they launder them.  If someone spills a hazardous material on the lab coat, they are instructed to turn them in for a clean one, and the coat is either thrown away as haz waste or laundered, depending on the nature of the spill.  All lab coats are laundered at the end of every quarter..

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Lab Coat Washing?

Hello Wise Ones,

Does anyone require lab coats to be washed?  If so, how often and how?  Would like to know for both chemical and biological scenarios.  Do you have laundry facilities on site or hire out or take home?  What about student lab coats?

Thank you,

Monique
