A massive blaze broke out at a godown in south Delhi‰??s Malviya Nagar on Tuesday evening, the latest in a series of factory fires this year.

No casualty was reported but chief fire officer of the Delhi fire services, Atul Garg, fell unconscious during the firefighting operations. The fire also partially engulfed a school building and a gymnasium, fire officials said.

Fire officers said fire was of the ‰??highest magnitude‰?? this season. Plastic and raw material stored at the factory fuelled the fire.

Delhi Police personnel, Delhi Disaster Management Authority staff and firefighters reached the spot. At least 35 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to contain the blaze. Aam Aadmi Party legislator Somnath Bharti also visited the spot.

SAN ANTONIO - A chemical exposure incident at an industrial building Monday morning on the city's Northeast Side left 25 employees in need of medical attention.

San Antonio Fire Department spokesman Woody Woodward said employees were treated for nausea and headaches and didn't require hospitalization.

Woodward said 12 people were treated at the Texas Med Clinic in the 7400 block of Interstate 35 and 13 others were treated at the business, Industrial Container Services, in the 6900 block of Northeast Loop 410. The business cleans industrial containers.

Woodward said some chemicals were mixed, but officials don't "know exactly what happened."

He said the building "is secure and safe" and there isn't a danger to the public.

HOUSTON - A shelter-in-place order that was issued Monday for people within a 1-mile radius of a massive fire at a warehouse in southern Houston has been lifted.

The four-alarm fire was reported about 6:30 a.m. at a business called National Container Group at 13131 Almeda Road, near Almeda-Genoa Road.

Nearly 150 firefighters battled the warehouse fire.

The firm cleans chemical containers for reuse.

The square containers and other plastic drums come to the facility empty by industry standards, according to Houston Fire Chief Sam Pena, but there are some residual chemicals that remain inside before they're cleaned and recycled.

SUPERIOR, WIS. ‰?? It‰??s usually the summer practice of Mary McConnell to donate some of her vegetable crops to neighbors or sell a portion at the local farmers market to pay for gardening supplies.

This year, after an explosion and fire at the Husky Energy oil refinery north of her house, she‰??s nervous that toxic fallout from the fire contaminated the soil she‰??s carefully tended for years at the homestead she shares with her husband.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the city of Superior have said there‰??s no pollution threat, but McConnell said she could smell the fire that day, saw a plume of oily, black smoke billowing in the sky above her home, and has heard warnings from a local chemistry professor not to plant crops this year.

‰??It‰??s very confusing for the people here who are really, really worried,‰?? she said.

A month after the April 26 explosion and fire, locals are getting back to their lives, but with new questions about the accident and its aftermath.
