All

We are about to begin testing fume hoods in our new building and have come across an issue. Our specification document calls for ASHRAE 110 testing with NIH modifications. The company hired to do the work says they only ever do the static portion of the NIH modified test (cans & boxes in the hood, includes 3 walk bys, with manikin) but they say they can't do the dynamic tests (with sash movements up and down, walk bys, opening and closing the lab door). We contacted another "reputable" company and they said that they don't do it either, and they have tested on NIH campus. Can you all let me know whether you request NIH modifications for fume hood testing and if so, do you actually receive both static and dynamic elements of the tests? Do you know of any companies that actually do the dynamic portion of the test?

Thanks!

Chris
