NLM Toxicology and Environmental Health Info

Please join the National Library of Medicine (NLM) for a special plenary session and recognition program to commemorate the 100th meeting of the Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB) Scientific Review Panel (SRP).

HSDB is a toxicology and environmental health database and part of the NLM toxicology data network (TOXNET). It contains approximately 6,000 records on potentially hazardous chemicals, and focuses on human exposure, industrial hygiene, pharmacology, emergency handling and treatment procedures, environmental fate, regulatory requirements, manufacturing and use and related areas. The data are assessed by an SRP with expertise in the subject areas; it meets several times each year to review records. HSDB is widely used across government, academia, and industry.

The HSDB plenary program includes:

- History, current features and data science enhancements
- Internal data users: PubChem and WISER
- External data users: federal government, industry and academia
- Recognition of SRP service
- Recognition of data partners
This plenary session is open to the NIH community, as well as to those interested in learning more about HSDB and how it's used. It takes place Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 1-3pm at the Hilton Hotel, 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852.

Registration is not required. For planning purposes, please send an email with the number of people attending in your party to julian.argoti**At_Symbol_Here**nih.gov by September 1, 2017.
