Here is the scoop -CCS - Is the Committee on Chemical Safety - It is part of the overall governance structure of the ACS. (You can check out the ACS and You a self paced course from the ACS Leadership Development Page - to see all of the information related to ACS Governance.)DCHAS - is a Technical Division within the ACS. The technical divisions are the ones responsible for the technical content of the national meetings as well as other activities.Members of CCS are appointed through the ACS Governance rules and the guidance of the ACS Charter (i.e. how many members, how many must be councilors, etc.) The appointments are term limited. The Committee deals with policy issues, development of information for the other aspects of the ACS operations, etc. There is a specific charter and duties listed in the ACS Bulletin 5 document. The Division is governed more through the membership, as divisions are formed by members focusing on specific topical areas.Hope this helps. Yes, there will be a lot of overlap because the subject matter experts are hopefully members of the Division.--- For more information about the DCHAS-L e-mail list, contact the Divisional secretary at secretary**At_Symbol_Here**dchas.org Follow us on Twitter **At_Symbol_Here**acsdchasFrankie Wood-Black, Ph.D., REM, MBAPrincipal - Sophic PursuitsNOTE - ADDRESS CHANGE - Mailing Address - PO Box 433, Tonkawa, OK 74653email address fwoodblack90**At_Symbol_Here**gmail.com580-761-3703On Thu, Aug 3, 2017 at 11:01 AM, Wilhelm, Monique <mwilhelm**At_Symbol_Here**umflint.edu> wrote:--- For more information about the DCHAS-L e-mail list, contact the Divisional secretary at secretary**At_Symbol_Here**dchas.org Follow us on Twitter **At_Symbol_Here**acsdchasHello Everyone,
I have noticed a lot of overlap in CHAS and CCS, including people involved. Can anyone clarify the differences and how they work together for me? Or should I attend the open meeting on Saturday of the conference to find out more about CCS?
I am currently studying for the CHO certification exam and finding that there are so many places with similar resources and goals..
Thanks,
