We used to use MS work and Excel to do inspection reports and trending. This worked but was labor intensive. We looked at several software packages. Safety Stratus looked great, but was expensive and perhaps more than what we needed.

 

We settled on iauditor by SafetyCulture. This is free to use and has a subscription level that has more features (i.e. sharing with other auditors). The free version is not bad, depending on the size of your operation and it a good way to evaluate the product. It is compatible with android, apple, and PC. The mobile devices use the iauditor app and the PC logs into the safetyculture web page where more administrative tasks and analytics (paid subscription) are done.

 

The cost for the first level subscription is about $9 per user per month. We have three users and it is about $300 annually. Our data is archived on their servers or we can download and delete from the cloud. The have great training videos, customer service, and it is easy to use. Your devices need connectivity, but will save data if you lose connection and sync when reconnected.

 

You have to design and create your own template for inspection. You can download from the public library, but these may not be everything you need and making a template is easy. They analytics were just upgraded and are better, but still not what I want, so we still need a work around to keep our analytics consistent with the old days.

 

I give iauditor 8.5 out of 10 and I would recommend for small to medium sized EHS offices.
